Russell Harris (b. 1970) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He furthered his education at the Schuler School of Fine Art and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and participated in an intensive workshop with renowned portrait artists Daniel E. Green, Sean Cheetham, and Will Wilson.
Harris is a versatile artist skilled in painting figures, still life scenes, and intricate trompe l'oeils. With a sharp eye for detail, he can render a wide array of textures with remarkable confidence. His brushwork ranges from loose and expressive to highly refined and nearly imperceptible. Demonstrating mature compositional skills, Harris relies on solid structure and strong draftsmanship, ensuring that each piece is carefully composed and restrained, imbuing every object or figure with a quiet power and intensity.
